The need for everyone involved in the water sector to change the way they do things is increasingly recognised, not just within the industry but by wider society and customers too. The multiple interacting pressures of climate change, population and ageing infrastructure together with the need to protect the water environment mean that we all need to transform the way we provide and use water services. But what might a sustainable and resilient water system actually look like?
Professor Joby Boxall from the University of Sheffield is the leader of the innovative EPSRC sponsored TWENTY65 consortium that is addressing just this issue. TWENTY65 are working in partnership across the water sector to tailor water systems so that they positively impact health, the environment, the economy and society
