Second call for abstracts
The CIWEM New Generations Competition for 2017 is coming up on 8th March.The committee are currently looking for presentations for the competition. If you are under the age 30 and work in the water, wastewater or environmental management area then this is a great opportunity to showcase your work, the work of your company or your creative thoughts in this area.
The branch uses this competition to determine its candidate for the CIWEM Young Environmentalist of the Year, giving you regional and perhaps national recognition. In addition the Branch winner will win free CIWEM membership for a year and the Otter Trophy.
If you're interested in competing, send an abstract (approx 150 words) of your presentation, with your name and details of your employer (where appropriate) to Robert Berry (robert.berry@jbaconsulting.co

This year we are giving Branch members the opportunity to vote on the best abstracts submitted. The abstracts will be anonymised and we will be asking for your views between 8-17th February, so watch this space and have your say. The event
At the New Generations Competition, you will hear from the three young members in the region. Each talk will last 20 minutes and there will be an opportunity to ask questions and quiz the presenters. The CIWEM President for 2016-17, Bruce Keith, will be at the meeting and presenting the Otter Trophy to the winner. He will be available before and after should you wish to discuss anything with him.
